Congratulations to EOA Principal Tracey Ford in being accepted into the 2026-2027 class of Leadership Nashville. This nine-month independent executive program will be the organization’s 50th cohort.

Forty-six participants were chosen from over 300 applications. Alumni and the public nominate established leaders who are willing to devote time to an in-depth study of Metro Nashville Davidson County. The course will begin in September and focuses on issues related to government and media, diversity, business, education, quality of life, health, arts and entertainment, and public safety.

Evette White, executive director of the program, said the key to Leadership Nashville’s success over the past 50 years is the diverse leadership experience of its participants.

Tracey joins a distinguished group of EOA alumni, including Gary Everton and Sheila Dial Barton. Congratulations, Tracey!

Honored to be recognized for our design of Emblem Park by AIA Tennessee! Emblem Park is a mixed-use residential community that serves as a connector between the Chestnut Hill and Wedgewood Houston neighborhoods in Nashville.

As noted by the jury, “This large multifamily development demonstrates the importance of design at multiple scales. The jury admired how the project creates identity through massing, materiality, and the integration of existing structures. The adaptive reuse component is especially compelling, serving both as design inspiration and as a reminder that new development can build meaning from what is already there. The project successfully balances density, memory, and neighborhood transition.”

This project was a collaboration with SomeraRoad and our friends at MZA Architecture • Interiors▪️ Manuel Zeitlin Architects.

We are thrilled to share that our own Ana Smetana has completed the 2026 Nashville Emerging Leaders program! This year-long initiative brings together rising professionals from across Middle Tennessee for in-depth leadership training, community immersion, and mentorship with established civic and business leaders.

EOA has proudly supported this program for decades, and we’re honored to see Ana continue that legacy. Past EOA graduates include Sheila Dial Barton, Tracey Ford, Julie DeBow‑Davis, Whitney Johnson, Brittany Doseck, and Michael Wasyliw—each of whom has gone on to make a meaningful impact in our firm and in the broader community.

We are proud to announce that Christ Church Cathedral received an Award of Merit at the AIA Tennessee Design Awards!

Per jury comments, “This project carefully lifts up and frames the historic church through a new architectural intervention that is both deferential and contemporary. The jury admired the way the new “veil” creates transparency, connection, and a meaningful dialogue between old and new. The interior details are simple, clean, and refined, allowing the historic fabric to remain central while giving the place new life and relevance. It is a thoughtful and respectful addition to an important civic and sacred space.”

Congratulations to all of our fellow AIA Tennessee winners.

Macy is amazing!

We were thrilled to welcome Macy Steingrube into our studio this summer from UT College of Architecture and Design. Macy is a rising senior pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design with minors in Industrial Design and Advertising & PR.

She joined us with a strong foundation in visual storytelling and illustration, and a clear passion for packaging design and the experiences it creates for users. Macy was a natural fit with our “humanizing design” ethos and played a key role in developing branded collateral for our firm throughout the summer.

Here are a few snapshots from Macy’s time in Nashville over the past few months. We’ll miss you, Macy—come back and see us next spring!

Chamberlain House was realized through a collaborative design partnership of EOA with Axiom Architecture (Charlotte) and Manuel Zeitlin Architects (Nashville), bringing together regional expertise to shape a distinctive new address in Nashville.

A unique feature of the Henry Horton State Park Inn is its hybrid structural system of steel, concrete, and mass timber. The mass timber components—constructed from regional Southern Yellow Pine—will be prominently visible throughout the guest room corridors and common areas, highlighting both the warmth of the material and its sustainable qualities. This is the first state park project in the system to leverage the environmental and construction efficiencies of mass timber.

Excited to see the mass timber installation begin onsite!

It’s official! Nashville has landed its long-awaited Super Bowl!!!

The NFL today named Music City host of Super Bowl LXIV in 2030. The announcement follows a vote by NFL owners at the league’s spring meeting in Orlando.

“Hosting the Super Bowl, one of the largest events in the world, is a milestone moment for Nashville and Tennessee and reflects how far our city has come over the last several decades,” said Deana Ivey, president and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp., in the release. “This is about far more than football. It is an opportunity to showcase the creative spirit, distinctive character, warm hospitality and vibrant energy that make Music City special.”

Our team is thrilled to showcase all of the hard work and grit that has gone into the design and construction of New Nissan Stadium!! We can’t wait to show the world this amazing venue alongside our beautiful hometown.

EOA was honored to receive a Metro Historical Commission Preservation Award for the Christ Church Cathedral renovation and addition. Congratulations to our design and construction team and a heartfelt thank you to the Christ Church Cathedral building committee and ownership team for entrusting us with this Nashville treasure.

We also congratulate our fellow (EOA) award recipient Patrick Gilbert on the renovation of his personal home!

Since 1973, over 400 awards have gone to a broad range of historic structures – dwellings, churches, commercial and industrial buildings, schools, even to bridges and new developments. Nominated by the public, they are honored for their sensitivity to the original architecture and the surrounding environment, creativity in adaptation for contemporary use, architectural merit and/or historic interest, long-term maintenance, adherence to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, and pioneering spirit. The public awards ceremony coincides with National Preservation Month, which is sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and celebrated every year in May. The theme for Preservation Month 2026 is “All People are Created Equal” to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
