A recent snapshot looking out the window from our project. It's true that the simpler something looks usually means the harder it took to make it. There are sometimes layers of refinement that our designs go through. Deciding what to take out takes more practice than deciding what to put in. I love how simply beautiful this shot is. It really embodies the essence of The Tennessee Wanderlust. I'm going to start sharing more about the story behind each of our projects. Happy Fourth! T minus 3 hours before the guests arrive to eat dinner & watch the fireworks. We set this porch up for photos (potted plants and all—yes I’m psycho & also a slave driver😮) in a little over an hour, so you still have time to sweep the floors, pot the plants and pressure wash the cushions. Porch perfection! Your welcome. 😊⁠

Queue the jazz music, a glass of wine and the bubble bath--I'll be hiding out in my bathtub where no one can find me. In fact, I may just hide in the tub and take a nap. Is anyone else finding their nerves shot playing cruise captain for their family except not getting paid? Summer is hard on Moms with little kids, but I know, I know...it goes by fast and then they're in college. Until then, if you need me and can't find me, I'll be in my tub, pretending to be the Captain. 🍸️⁠

Sometimes I'm asked if I have a favorite space that I've designed. Asking a designer that question is like a parent picking their favorite child- impossible! But, I do always come back to this moody primary bedroom. The drama of those velvet chartreuse drapes definitely ranks high on the list.
