Hunter Design

October 2021, Middleburg, VA — my first time networking with equestrian professionals at an event by Hart Equestrian, with the talented Georgina Preston behind the lens.
That day opened my eyes to the power of community within this industry.
Now, almost four years later, I’m heading back to host the Luxury Equestrian Network’s first East Coast event- at the Welbourne Inn where and and my did a photo shoot together, later featured in Equestrian Living.

Grateful. Inspired. Coming full circle. 🤍

I’ve spent the week glued to the news for updates on the LA fires and checking on evacuated friends and their horses. The amount of devastating is so surreal, I’ve never seen anything like it. The Malibu Pacific Coast Highway was once such iconic drive and quintessential California. Now it’s all gone. Pacific Palisades wiped off the map. And yet here in San Diego we have been so fortunate that sometimes makes me feel guilty knowing the chaos and destruction occurring just an hour and a half away.
Today I was grateful for the time with my horse, the simple chores at the barn, I was even grateful for the stall that I had to muck. I know while I’m filling water buckets, there are people who have lost their horses or can’t find them. People are displaced and evacuated horses are stressed out. I know those people would do anything to have their stall to muck, their buckets to water.
Life can be so beautiful and tragic at the same time. I can watch an amazing sunset while others can’t even breathe. It doesn’t seem fair.
My heart goes out to all the people affected by the fires, especially my fellow equestrians. We stand with you. Please reach out if there’s a way I can help you.

I have listened to this show since 2018 and it has become deeply ingrained in my business. I hired a coach that Luann interviewed , I took ’s Standards course, and have implemented countless strategies and tips. I have so much respect for Luann and the way she has changed the design industry. Being on her show was such an honor! Thank you Luann!

Today With Lindsay Hunter:
Welcome to a Well-Designed Business. If you’ve been listening to the show for any amount of time, you’ve heard me tell you to niche at least a dozen times. So…if you haven’t niched…what’s holding you back?
My guest today, Lindsay Hunter, probably had all of those same fears. But she also had a passion—and she turned that passion into a profitable, thriving niche as the equestrian interior designer.
Today, she’s sharing her story—and how niching opened up doors for her that never would have opened up otherwise.

LuAnn Nigara and Lindsay Hunter’s Ah-Ha Moments
“Thank you for inspiring me to niche my business and to put my horse back on my website and be authentic and myself and feel like I can show up to client meetings in my barn boots.” -Lindsay

“What’s meaningful and being passionately attached to something are two very different things. When you’re really super niched like equestrian design, you can’t fake that. You can’t say you’re an equestrian designer when you haven’t even been in a tack room.” -LuAnn

If you haven't already picked up your copy of the Sept/Oct issue of Equestrian Living Magazine, please do so! It's a beautiful issue full of equestrians' favorites including travel, fashion, brands and life-style. They've listed San Diego as the 3rd best place to live and I am so excited to be a brand new member of this beautiful community!
Pages 34-37 featuring yours truly is also a good read 😜
