Yesterday was Matt’s LAST last day of school. Very surreal to think school is done for him, as I remember my own last day like it just happened (28 years ago…gulp.) Except his had some fanfare to it….he ended it with a bucket list item of performing with his friend, Caroline, at The Bluebird Cafe! The group of graduating students did AMAZING, we have some GOOD songwriters here in Music City! Graduation in two weeks!

My mother is an amazing seamstress, but doesn’t quilt. I quilt, but am not a seamstress. So I’m having complete flashbacks as I pull this pattern out of all the dresses, jumpers, pedal pushers (let me date myself!) and costumes she’s made for me. So many good memories of time spent in Clothworld and Hancock Fabrics!

April 3rd is our family’s “Phoenix Day.” The Phoenix is a symbol for rebirth, and this is what we got three years ago today. Matthew rang the bell, signifying beating his battle with cancer, and our family made the decision to move across the country to start a fresh new life on our terms. It was a rebirth for all of us! I am thankful and grateful that the guys are as adventurous as my gypsy soul, and look forward to new adventures in our future!
