The People's Project and it's mission are something that Beaver Stew aligns with. Since the beginning as a kitchen, we wanted to focus on intentional gatherings, not just the National Rainbow Gathering. We believed that following the Appalachian route of smaller, regional gatherings would give us the chance to support close knit communities and experience a more homely space. Disaster relief and consistent outreach was also one of our goals early on. Hurricane Helene has shown us the need for rainbow's vision to exist outside of main trail, to nurture real growth and rebuilding. We are amending our mission to include the formation and continued work on sustainable communities, permacultural ideals, and the acquiring and vetting of new lands, so that the members of our family can have sanctuary, community, and food that is made of food. The Peoples Project is a non profit that believes people should help people, and that through mutual aid and hard work, is aimed at creating and maintaining these spaces, of which The Garden is only one. It was our passion to create kitchens and spaces that were safe for families, offered hot food and the exchange of song and story. We fell in love with you all for a week, and then we had to tear it down. We hope that onwards we can create spaces that can be utilized by folks that come after us, and thus perpetuate the love and safe-haven that Beaver Stew believes we can offer each other. Thank you for your continued prayers and kindness to us. Stay tuned

We’re at “The Garden” where they’re holding their “People’s Project” meeting. We’re now partnered with them under a non-profit 501-3c and feel the need to attend. We’ve also been utilizing tools and know-how to fix the buses problems. Just changed the oil, about to repair the radiator, Valve cover oil leak, open-floor patch, crew heat issues, and the roof hatches. We apologize for being so silent; we’ve been off-grid since we left the disaster area and relocated to the Garden. We’ll be as transparent about donation spending as we can; please be patient as we plan our next moves. Disaster relief is part of our mission as this kitchen; to be honest I’m proud of our Crew for doing so well their first time out and with limited gear. We’ll be back on the ground soon enough and with the intended use of said donations to feed people for free. We Love You!
