New hatch of quail, only 1 day old.

Finally got our quail moved around and situated the way we wanted. The two cage batteries on the left are our grow out pens and the three on the right are our roll out cages for the layers. The brooder is right behind me, I'll share a picture when the baby's go into it.

So stoked right now! Out of the 120 eggs placed in the incubator. 101 were viable at lockdown, 24 hours into hatching we have 3 eggs left to hatch! 81% hatch rate so far I'll take it! These little fuzzy nuggets will be divided up between 2 hatching brooders (big totes) for 48 hours before they move out to the gigantor brooder for 3 weeks.

The little nuggets hatched out like popcorn last night went from 7 to probably over 60 this morning. Such cute little girls and guys. God bless everyone!

Always an exciting day when the first fuzzy little nugget hatches out. This one is only about a half hour old. Now we are just waiting for it's little brothers and sisters to make an appearance

We have fresh quail eggs every Tuesday (2-6pm) and Saturday (9am-1pm) at the Hibbing farmers market (located in Hibbing on hwy 37 across from McDonald's). We also have processed with skin on quail available for pick up at our homestead or we can bring the frozen birds for pick up at the market. Also have hatching eggs and live birds available. Was a busy day, we were going to process 60 birds but we were pleasantly interrupted by folks, one bought a breeder set of quail and another the are getting our largest order of hatching eggs so far 20 doz. I didn't really think we would ever get an order this large. But we have 35 processed birds ready to go, PM us if you would like more info. God bless everyone!
