Several years ago, when we were still living in CT, I founded a small business named Beatrice & Lulu. The goal back then was to make, market and sell well-constructed handbags and accessories both by word of mouth and in small local boutiques. Over the first couple years I made and sold dozens of my handbags, key fobs and head bands. In early 2014 we decided to retire to NC, so I stopped promoting Beatrice and Lulu to concentrate on the move. Once we were settled here in NC, we found a perfect outlet for Beatrice and Lulu products - the New Bern Farmers Market (http://newbernfarmersmarket.org/). Since we were now officially "retired", we changed our product line from handbags and accessories and could both create high-quality and affordable hand-made products. Most of our year round products use re-purposed wine bottles and wine corks: wind chimes, bird houses, cork wall art, place card holders, coasters and other items utilizing wine corks. Our Holiday products start with a full line of decor items for Fall and Christmas: ornaments made from wine corks, small Christmas trees using exotic hard-woods and seasonally themed decorative rustic wood boxes.
