We are a husband and wife team who likes our essential oil collection to be well organized. Our unique name is derived from the fact that we not only use essential oils on ourselves, but on our 3 dogs as well (hence the "oily hounds"). Our essential oil collection was starting to grow in 2017, and I needed organization. Mark suprised me one day, and made me a beautiful handmade wood shelf. We shar

ed his creation with others, and they loved his ideas as well. Next thing you know, we started our Etsy shop in July 2017. And here we are... growing, changing and organizing the essential oil world... one organized bottle at a time!!

It’s been a moment 😬 And we have exciting news to share!

After a quiet season online, we’re stepping into the holidays with something special. This weekend, 11/28 & 11/29, Fern Drive Studio is honored to participate in the annual Der Belsnickel Craft Show in Boyertown, PA — a local tradition filled with handmade artistry, holiday cheer, and the magic of community.

We’ll be bringing a curated collection of our handmade wood pieces — bowls, vessels, boxes, pet memorials, and a few new items crafted just for the season. Every piece is shaped by hand in our studio, created with purpose, faith, and deep respect for the beauty of the wood we work with.

It’s official! 🤩

We’re now Fern Drive Studio… and a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB).

While we always loved being Oily Hounds, we’ve grown beyond just organizing essential oils. Mark’s skill and craftsmanship has grown exponentially… and so our name needed to reflect such a change.

Our new name comes from the location of our woodshop… on Fern Drive in little Boyertown, PA 😎

Everything is getting upgraded, and we’ve been busy behind the scenes working and building.

We’ll be posting more too!

Through our grieving, we still celebrate! Happy 15th birthday to our furry drama queen, Lexus 🥳

🐶 AKA Paw-paws, Freckle foots, Miss Wiggles, Happy girl, Twigs & berries, Furmatter… so many silly names.

Today we celebrate you because you make us smile every day ❤️

We are incredibly sad today…

Our little oily hound, Oreo, earned her angel wings and crossed rainbow bridge 🌈

Words can describe the emptiness. But she is no longer suffering and is in peace. She passed at home in her favorite place… and we got to be with her.

Our hearts are heavy. She was in my life for over 17 years… I’ve been blessed to have her with me since she was 9 weeks old. Our very first picture together was on 8-7-2006. Our very last picture together was today, 8-8-23 😭

Her sisters feel the loss as well.

Two special souls had very important birthdays recently (few weeks ago, actually 😜🧁)…

Mark (the shop keeper and woodcrafter extraordinaire) turned 60 (although he doesn’t look it at all… or act it😂… gotta keep him young!!), and little Oreo turned 17 🤯

Love them both (and our other 2 pooches) with all my heart! 🥰

I pray for many MORE blessed years with them all 😇❤️

It’s a beautiful sunny day at the Philadelphia Ave Street Fair in downtown Boyertown, PA 🌞

This is our first street fair! It’s nice to be outside and meet people in our local and surrounding community 😇
