I went down the adhd hyper fixation rabbit hole and tried to acclimate a ✨countless✨ amount of tissue cultures. Yes, I have a label maker. Yes, I used it in the same batch I acclimated these ones in. No, I don’t know why I didn’t label these. No, I did not learn my lesson. Yes, I did it again and will likely do it some more.

I’ll get my s**t together when I have a bigger space and more resources/materials I swear ✨🫶🏼

Reasons why I love these dramatic ass BI***ES. Alocasias are the definition of DRAMATIC. One day they’re serving main-character leaves and then drop all of their leaves the next.

And yet… They are the ultimate bounce-back QUEENS.

Some seasons I’m thriving. Some seasons I’m surviving. Some seasons I’m a bare stem in a pot staring at the ceiling. But growth isn’t linear. Neither is healing. Neither are Alocasias.

I love them because they remind me that looking “dead” isn’t the same as being done. Rest isn’t failure. Dropping leaves isn’t weakness. Sometimes you conserve energy. Sometimes you disappear. And sometimes you come back louder, shinier, and stronger than before.

Depression may rot my roots but my rhizome always makes it through 🌱
