🌸🌸A beautifully detailed mid century botanical study of the Night Blooming Cereus, watercolor and pencil on paper, signed and dated December 1953. The composition captures the plant in multiple stages of bloom, including the dramatic, fleeting flowers that have made it known as the Queen of the Night.

Framed at 35” x 27” in a wonderful green frame that suits the piece so well. The mat shows age and should eventually be replaced, and there is a bit of minor debris inside the frame from mat breakdown, but overall it presents beautifully and has a quiet, collected charm.

A lovely decorative botanical with soft tonal washes, delicate linework, and a distinctly mid-century sensibility.
