Taking shape in Baton Rouge: the Burden Welcome Center at LSU is underway!

Designed as a contemplative retreat and gateway to the 440-acre Burden Museum & Gardens, the project celebrates Louisiana’s cultural and ecological richness. Anchored in the landscape, a central breezeway—modeled after the traditional “dogtrot” form common in Southern architecture—frames views of the rose garden and encourages passive cooling. Other features include a rain garden, green roof, outdoor gathering areas, and flexible gallery and event space.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!

A LOOK BACK INTO THE ARCHIVES - South Carolina Aquarium, Charleston, SC

Located on a century-old industrial site along the Charleston waterfront, this project reimagined a once-restricted area as a dynamic public destination. The path to completion was far from simple, as extensive environmental remediation and a mid-design recalibration of FEMA flood criteria (prompted by Hurricane Hugo) tested the team’s resolve. Over 14 years, creativity and perseverance prevailed, resulting in an award-winning waterfront landmark.

Inside, visitors follow the journey of water from Appalachian mountain streams to the Atlantic Ocean, culminating in the 37-foot-tall Great Ocean Tank, one of the tallest aquarium tanks in the world.

With immersive habitats, expansive views, and a sunlit atrium that bridges interior experience and exterior landscape, the design honors the powerful intersection of environment, education, and architecture.

From forgotten office building to future-forward campus!

RNGD Headquarters is more than a renovation—it’s a proof of concept. Designed and built in collaboration with RNGD, this adaptive reuse project embodies a vertically integrated approach to design-build: where façade systems were fabricated just steps from where they’d be installed.

Through bold massing moves, sustainable systems, and spaces that prioritize well-being and flexibility, the new HQ reflects a workplace culture rooted in transparency, innovation, and shared leadership.

Explore how this project redefines what a headquarters can be—from the floating strategy room to the central light-filled atrium—on our website.
