We said goodbye to our sweet boy Luigi yesterday. Losing both him and Sterling in just a few months apart is so heartbreaking. Luigi was a rambunctious one. Drove me crazy at times but I loved how fearless he was. A total reckless, Aries badass, just like his dad. People always say your partner holds a mirror up to you, but I think our pets do it too. They teach us, to help us find the best parts of ourselves. Luigi really guided me to find that version of me. He was basically my first cat dog because he had nine effing lives! Survived multiple surgeries, once ate a pack of Sudafed, and even tried gnawing off his own lumps to save us money. Bless him. He loved a challenge. We once needed to snake a hose under the house, so we tied it around him, dangled a treat on the other side, and he just sprinted right through the crawlspace. He was so good! Loved doing tricks. He hated bananas though. Before he passed, he and Verbena had this rare bittersweet moment. They locked eyes, and she gave him those slow, loving blinks... like she knew it was time and was blessing him on his way. Oh, my sweet boy. I miss you so much already. I just know he’s out there prancing around with Sterling and all our friends’ dogs who’ve left us these last few years. Run free, my baby boy.

Love seeing the gradual transformation of our kitchen. This was snapped during our shoot before AD, back when the walls were a creamy white with a painted ceiling cap. Not gonna lie, I kinda miss the traditional contrast. Two of my favorite details here are the Edalyn bridge faucet, which brings a touch of classic European heritage and solid brass craftsmanship, and the Riverby cast iron sink in Dune color (a lovely off-white). The sink is a true workhorse. It has integrated workstation accessories, like the custom maple cutting board, colander, and soaking bin to make daily prep way more seamless.

Vacations are great but I love coming home to my own shower. We splurged on the primary shower and it was worth every penny. It’s spacious, featuring curved plaster walls, a custom marble bench, and a big casement window that makes you feel like you’re showering outdoors. The real luxury, though, is the Statement collection in Vibrant Brushed Moderne Brass (say that five times fast!). I’m especially obsessed with the valve control. The recessed push buttons let us seamlessly control three different water sources. It’s pure luxury. We even styled the bench with some plants to really lean into that indoor-outdoor vibe.

Welcome to my love letter to maximalism. I filled our home with colors that make me happy, bold patterns, personal pieces, and comfortable surroundings for guests because we love hosting. Using a heritage brand like Kohler in the kitchen, bathrooms, and cabana turned essentials into more design moments. Plus, the KOHLER fixtures and faucets really helped bring together the old meets new vibe while providing effortless functionality. Every room has its own personality, but they all tell the same story: surround yourself with things you truly love.

Designing the cottage was all about finding that perfect balance with to make a small space feel intentional. That meant prioritizing double duty pieces. The Dalton Storage Bed is a spacesaver for stashing away extra towels and linens. I paired the bed with the Olwen side table because I am a sucker for a pillar leg and a good curve. Over in the tiny eat-in nook, I went with the Brooke dining table, which has a playful silhouette that adds some personality. I love my little cottage for its intimate, cozy scale, but adding these large folding doors from really opens up the entire space for maximal indoor outdoor living.

Windows and doors are truly are the soul of a home. Wait, is that how the saying goes? All I know is our flood the entire house with the most incredible natural light. When we were planning our ground up, we knew we needed custom sizes and colors to get it just right, and Andersen made the whole process really easy to work with.
