We know that uncertainty and changes at the Federal level are impacting your farm/garden, your organization, your business, your job, your work, etc. These changes include the Federal Freeze Order/paused payments of federal grants, Federal agency downsizing (ex. USDA, NRCS, FSA, AMS), grant changes/terminations, and anything else that is impacting your work from the federal level.

In order to advocate now and in the future, we need to know how exactly these orders and administration changes are impacting Louisiana on the ground. There is a severe lack of transparency/lack of information available about what is happening from above, so our best option is to collect data and stories from below- from you. Due to limited capacity, we cannot commit to providing one-on-one support but will do our best to relay available resources.

With a heavy heart, we share that the New Orleans Trap Kitchen has closed its doors for good. It’s been an honor to be the City’s favorite commissary for the past 5 years, having watched a ton of great chefs and producer’s grow their food and beverage businesses while serving as a community hub through entrepreneurial support, mutual aid, and event hosting. We appreciate everyone that has ever come through the Trap cooking as a client, supporting pop-ups, setting up at markets, or just dropping off cans!

As the commissary closes, we hope to utilize this platform for continued support of talented small food businesses. Stay tuned to find out what our next move might be: Permit and license consults and advocacy? Food & bev influencer? Oyster taster (always & forever, duh!)?

It was an amazing journey on our little corner of Poland Ave.! Thanks to all who were a part of it!

We are throwing a party to raise funds to help keep the commissary open and continue down our path to becoming a cooperative!

There are a lot of TBDs - but what we do know is that Wednesday Sept. 4 we gonna throwing down at , food by and tbd, movie showing “I Like Killing Flies” with the help of and then some KARAOKE with KJ Pearl !

In between will be an auction/raffle situation with the coolest localest goodies from homies like and a whole lot more!
