So proud of my colleagues at Bymbo for helping to coordinate the first ever St Claude Trash Bash. Over 150 volunteers joined us to pick up trash along the St Claude Corridor. Flex is so grateful for the community we have here in New Orleans!

On Tuesday, I joined the women’s Professional Council at the New Canal Lighthouse for dinner on the lakefront to hear a presentation on women’s health. We also got a tour of the lighthouse and learned about the history of New Orleans waterways from the Ponchartrain Conservancy. Grateful for the support of the group of fellow entrepreneurs, as well as the diverse programming of this monthly dinner series!

Last Friday, I was grateful to attend the Step Up and Lead workshop, co-sponsored by betternola , Serve Louisiana , the Greater New Orleans Foundation , and the LCV Education Fund. The workshop served as an opportunity to learn more about how to serve on the city’s boards and commissions, an effort spearheaded to ensure New Orleans’ leaders represent the true diversity of the city.

On Monday, I joined the Women’s Professional Council to visit the Meraux Foundation’s Docville Farm, where we listened to presentation on the important work they’re doing in St. Bernard Parish. We heard stories about coastal restoration, preserving local foodways, and how to support the arts and culture of South Louisiana. We also heard from Anna Timmerman of the LSU school of agriculture to learn how they support local farmers and gardeners.

On Friday we hosted a community meeting with Tulane architecture students from the Small Center , along with local business owners, public transit experts, and bike commuter advocates to discuss how to make New Orleans’ St Claude Avenue corridor safer and more pedestrian friendly. The students will take what they learned in this meeting to develop strategies to meet these goals, which they’ll present later in the semester. Today we’re meeting with students from LSU Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture as part of the same project- we’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the next generation of design leaders!
