This music venue was on of our favorite recent renderings we’ve produced. We loved getting to dream up how to use the existing architecture of the space to create a bespoke, dynamic buildout. Although this project remains a concept for now, I’m grateful for the support we received from the Office of Economic Development and The City Of New Orleans - I can’t wait for another opportunity to collaborate!

Flex was proud to host the Bywayer-Marigny Business Organization meeting last week. As a founding member of Bywater Marigny Business Organization , we use these meetings to connect with other local business leaders and community members. This month, we hosted a panel with New Orleans Office of Nighttime Economy , The City Of New Orleans , and Broad Community Connections . We stage these gatherings once a month and everyone is welcome to join!

Dipping into our material’s library allows us to play with ideas through creating conceptual sketches. This concept explores crafted optimism through warm natural materials, tactile textiles, and expressive color. Rich wood tones and cognac upholstery create comfort, while dusty blues and ochre accents bring freshness and subtle retro-modern energy. Patterned tile, metal mesh, and brushed finishes add a refined industrial edge that balances the softness of the furnishings. Together, these elements create a welcoming, social interior that feels playful, intentionally composed, and contemporary without being trend-driven.

Selecting finishes for conceptual projects helps hone our design vision and allows us to play with our extensive material’s library. This workplace concept reinterprets traditional post-industrial character through warm wood, aged metal, and tactile materials, contrasted with contemporary purple and deep green interventions. The result is a grounded yet expressive interior that balances historic warmth with bold color, sculptural forms, and a distinctly contemporary edge.

On our recent visit to Chicago, we were lucky enough to be given a private tour of the extraordinary Wright Auction House. For over 25 years, Wright has been one of the premier places to source modern furniture and art. It’s incredibly inspirational to see the craftsmanship in these mid century chairs. Special thanks to Hudson Berry for his boundless expertise and knowledge of every individual piece.
