Fall gumbo weather has officially arrived along the Gulf Coast... 🍂🌬️🦀

The temperature took a beautiful drop in New Orleans today, which means it’s time to pull out the stockpots, chop the trinity, and get a proper roux going on the stove.

To celebrate the first true fall breeze of the season, we’re looking back at these spectacular vintage pop art gumbo mugs. A smart shopper was thinking ahead and claimed them back in September! (And can we please talk about how perfectly they matched her gorgeous red manicure? 💅🏼❤️ Pure styling magic!)

While this exact pair is already off to a cozy home for today’s weather, we have a beautiful curation of other unique vintage mugs on the shelves right now that fit the exact same autumn hosting vibe.

Whether you’re serving up a hot family recipe or hunting for the perfect conversation starting gift, come find your treasure during your weekend stroll today, our door is wide open! 🛍️🩵

My study stack... 📖🕵️‍♀️🎓

When the shop doors are closed, my detective work begins in the pages. To me, learning as much as possible about each of these special pieces for hosting and gifting means diving deep into the history, craftsmanship, and stories behind every single piece that lands in our glass galleries.

A few selections from my learning library are a masterclass in texture and color: from the intricate geometry of the American Brilliant Cut Glass era (1876–1916) and early American pattern glass to 20th-century mid-century Murano glass masterpieces and the rich heritage of classic Lenox fine china.

Peeking out at the bottom is a volume that holds a very special piece of my own history. Growing up in Central Ohio, with relatives living right near the famous Longaberger basket headquarters, that iconic basket-shaped building holds so many sweet personal memories for me.

Though it sadly sits empty today, it remains a true postmodern architectural marvel that is still studied in design and architecture classes nationwide, and per some of my student customers, even here Uptown at Tulane. Today, I cherish several pieces inherited from those family members, alongside the classic picnic basket in my personal collection that matches the building itself.

Every shelf deserves a thoughtfully curated treasure, and knowing the heritage of your pieces is what turns an ordinary evening into a true conversation — Angela

Saturday Curation: A holy grail moment for vintage glassware collectors... 🌸✨

While we all love hunting for the iconic milk glass Pyrex Cinderella nesting bowls, finding the celebrated 1957 Pink Gooseberry botanical pattern screen printed onto these rare clear glass footed sherbet bowls and matching saucers is an entirely different tier of discovery.

Standard Pink Gooseberry production was strictly reserved for opaque milk glass ovenware and casseroles. These dessert sets were manufactured by Anchor Hocking, masterfully silk-screening the coveted botanical motif onto their own premium clear glass so discerning hosts could flawlessly coordinate their dining tables with their baking displays.

The delicate pink vines wrap the transparent glass beautifully, capturing the light over our lace runners today. They offer the ultimate mid-century pop of color for a brunch table setting, an open shelving display, or even styled on a vanity as a beautiful statement dish for your everyday jewelry.

We have a beautiful limited stack of these available on the gallery floor today.

Come hunt on this gorgeous Saturday before we close up for our weekly warehouse workdays! 🛍️🩵
