Design Center, your premier local architectural drafting service provider. Design Center was created on a few small goals; finding out what my customers really want to build, and helping them achieve it. A design should have the following qualities: be flexible to accommodate a young family as well as empty nesters, be inspiring, practical, efficient to build and economical to maintain. The physic
al structure should be designed and built to last for generations to come. I believe in a 3D design approach, this makes all the difference in the world when it comes to visualizing the design in a client’s eyes. All too often designs look great on paper in 2D for everyone involved in a building project, but once that project is built and complete, the project might not be as the homeowner anticipated.

*ABOUT
About Me:
As a kid I grew up being on a construction site. First, it all started as being a tool runner and handing tools to my father a self-employed contractor. I looked up to my dad, as most kids do at a young age. I was eager to learn everything I could about the construction world. Many summer days I would get up early to ride shot-gun in the front seat of my dad’s work van traveling to the jobsite. My two older brothers and I grew up having a luxury that any kid could dream of, a full-sized two story playhouse in our back yard! This is where we practiced putting the hammer to the nails and could be found building something new. As I grew older my desire to learn everything about the construction industry strengthened. It evolved into designing and drawing small cabinet projects, then building these projects inside my father’s workshop. House designing came naturally to me. This was another trait I picked up from watching my father as a young child. I still remember witnessing some of the first house plan meetings, which my father would have with his future homeowner clients around our kitchen table. I remember all the detailed questions he would ask his clients. I was just a kid back then, but I was taking good notes on how to treat your clients. As I entered into high school, drafting and designing classes introduced me to CAD software. As high school went on and senior year grew closer and closer I continued to enjoy drawing. Meanwhile, I was thinking about how I would expand my construction experience and how my future would unfold. After high school I attended St. Cloud Technical College, where I studied Architectural Construction Technology. During my time at SCTC I learned the proper use of building materials and the importance of building codes. While in the program I designed single and multi-level family homes along with light commercial projects. Since college I have spent more than 13 years drafting and designing homes for numerous clients and contractors while working full time as a project manager in the Millwork & Cabinetry Manufacturing Industry. My experience includes: custom cabinet design, decks, pole sheds, garages, additions and various types of new homes. I treat every project very personally, as if it was my own. I strive to get to know my clients wants, needs and desires and seek to include as many of those into their project as the design and budget will allow, much like my dad taught me.
