I had just finished breastfeeding my baby when I decided I was done staring at that brown fireplace.

I laid her down, walked straight to the basement, grabbed a can of primer — and started painting.

No plan. No Pinterest board. No permission from anyone.

That was 2015. And it was the beginning of something I didn’t expect — a transformation that was one part home and one part heart.

Changing my space became a reflection of the inner work I was doing. Every wall I painted, every room I rearranged, every piece I chose with intention — it was me deciding that my home and my life were worth the effort. Even in the chaos. Even with little ones everywhere.

Since then, we’ve transformed every room in two homes. I earned an interior design certification. I wrote a book about creating soul and style in your home. I’ve helped clients turn houses into homes that actually feel like theirs.

But here’s what matters most: I’m still a mom of six who knows that some days the house is a mess and the laundry wins. I’m not here to sell you perfection. I’m here because I believe that when a woman decides her home is worth caring for, something shifts inside her too.

If you’re ready for that shift — even a small one — I made a free guide for you.

It’s called Why Your Home Doesn’t Feel Like You (And How to Fix It).

Comment ‘GUIDE’ and I’ll send you the link.

Some days I sit down and just let it be hard. 🤍

I used to think a good mom pushes through everything.

What actually helped wasn’t a system or a schedule. It was letting myself feel it without judging myself. And then doing one small thing.

Make the bed. Put on music. Step outside.

Not fix the whole day. Just find one thing that’s good, beautiful and doable— and go from there.

If you’re in one of those days right now, I see you. You don’t have to have it all together to still be doing something really important.

Watch the full video to hear my full answer — and tell me in the comments: what’s your one small thing? 👇

This client bathroom is a jewel! 🪩🌱 I wanted to honor my client’s love of green, create a spa-like experience in their bathroom and choose tile that tells a story. We all love how it turned out!

Instead of doom scrolling—1. open up your photos on your phone and smile looking at three recent happy memories with your family and thank God for the people you love. 2. Get outside and let the sun and Earth’s beauty remind you of God’s love for you and all of His children. 4. Turn on some music and dance-bonus points if you can get your husband and or kids to dance with you. 😁 Follow for more tips on how to design personal, home and family life that is unapologetically you!

First impressions aren’t just for guests. They’re for you — every single day you come home.
If your entryway is a pile of shoes, a dump zone for bags, and a bottleneck for your whole family — it’s costing you more than you think.
I use a simple framework called P.E.C.:
Pause — actually look at the space instead of rushing past it.
Evaluate — what’s missing? What’s working? What comes in and out of this door daily?
Create — build a system around your real life, not a Pinterest board.
Hooks. A tray for keys. A basket for shoes. A bench that earns its place.
Small things. Real change.
Your entryway can welcome you home. It just needs a little intention.
Drop a 🚪 if your entryway needs some love — you’re not alone.

I see moms who feel like their home is a losing battle, but with the right help and tools, your home can be a source of peace instead of frustration. It is my joy to help people with home and family. This is a laundry room I helped design.

Cody carried them out one by one.
They were old. Worn. Overdue.
And we were both a little sad.
He actually thought, “Thank you. You have been good chairs.”
I’ve been thinking about that ever since.
We live in a culture that moves on quickly. New thing, next thing, better thing. No pause. No acknowledgment.
But those chairs held six kids. Homework. Morning chaos. Years of ordinary life that turned out to be everything.
The woman who can upgrade with gratitude — not just appetite — she leads differently. She consumes differently. She releases differently.
She teaches her children what it looks like to move forward without throwing the past away carelessly.
Gratitude isn’t only for the things you’re keeping.
Sometimes the most important thank you is the one you say on the way out the door.
This green chair is beautiful. I love it here.
And I also loved what was here before.
Both things can be true.

My mom is here visiting and she brought a folder of writing from my fifth grade year. It was so fun to read about what was going through my mind when I was that age. Here’s a passage that made us laugh because how different it is from my current circumstances: “As soon as I have been educated in fashion design, I’m going to New York or Los Angeles.” I am currently in small town Texas, married to a cowboy with six children, picking out outfits to remember younger me. 😊❤️
