This is to show a side by side comparison of our trench in Utah vs the one we dug in New York. Also, want to pay homage to my daughters who helped and did it by hand with shovels and a pick axe. You rock .schallert &

We're getting ready to pour a cement pad next week, so we're running 120 feet of conduit to the back corner for a future project. Renting a trencher and having the boys help made it much easier. No giant rocks to dig out like we did in New York - that was a nightmare! On to the next project.

We like to do work to save money but we have learned that sometimes you need to hire a professional. Notbworth the time it would take for use to do it. Especially when you need to move 15 tons of rock from the street to the other side of the house. They have the knowledge and equipment to do in a few hours what would take us forever. We now have two new gates some fence fixed in the back and the side ready for a shed.

Part five: getting all these door fronts installed with the pulls! They turned out pretty good—not perfect, but a whole lot better than before. Now for the final touch: 3D-printing all the labels so we know exactly what’s behind each door. 😭😭 tor

Part 3 is all about that satisfying ASSEMBLY LINE flow! Watching the jig fly through these drawer corners after all the setup work is the best part of DIY. I feel like a tiny factory owner! 😂. Next steps are drilling and staining, and then we finally attach them to the storage drawers.

We're finally tackling our drawer fronts after a busy summer. As total newbies, we're learning as we go. Fortunately, our trusty Milwaukee palm router and sander are making the process smoother. Stay tuned for the next installments.

This past spring, our chaotic filament storage—tangles everywhere!—finally reached a breaking point. We set out to find a better solution and landed on a design by for filament drawers. After a lot of work, we successfully built enough units to house a whopping 96 rolls of filament.
They’ve been an absolute game-changer for keeping our workspace organized. However, a hectic summer schedule meant the final aesthetic touch got put on hold. Now that things are finally slowing down, we’re circling back to the finish line and are just now getting around to fabricating the drawer fronts.
This post is part one of the journey! Stay tuned for the complete project reveal soon. (As always, these projects take a little longer than you plan! 😭)

There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of bringing a cherished toy back to life! When a favorite, hard-to-find part breaks on a valued toy like Rokenbok, and replacements are nowhere to be found, it can be frustrating. That’s where 3D printing shines!
We love using our printers to solve these dilemmas, crafting durable replacement parts that let the fun continue. Sure, our 3D printers spend a lot of time churning out cool dragons, fidget toys, and all sorts of fantastical creations. But sometimes, their greatest triumph is saving the day right here at home.
What everyday problem or missing part has your 3D printer (or maybe ours!) saved you from? We’d love to hear your ingenious fixes!
