Art That Stays With Me: September

The client wanted a grey monochromatic palette. They loved the idea of color being brought into the room through their art. This Damien Hirst spin painting adds a real punch to the living room.

Trends come and go. Great design lasts.

We believe the best interiors feel fresh and current without being defined by trends. By getting to know our clients and understanding how they live, we create spaces that feel personal, timeless, and uniquely their own.

Looking back at some of my Kips Bay rooms through the years, from 2004 to 2025. It’s always fun to revisit these spaces and see what has changed, what has stayed with me, and how each room captured a different moment in my work.

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House returns to New York September 16th through October 13th. I can’t wait to see what this year’s designers create! Grab your tickets through the link in bio.

The best client relationships are built on trust, but that trust goes both ways. My job is to bring years of experience to the table, explain the why behind my recommendations, and then listen, because at the end of the day, it’s your home and you’re the one living in it.

The dining room carries the same mix of country life and refinement found throughout this Connecticut farm. Jewel tones come through in the amethyst chairs and glass lighting, while sculptural furnishings and collected pieces keep the room feeling approachable and welcoming.

Mixing colors and patterns works best when there’s a sense of balance. We paired a saturated blue headboard with delicate patterns on the pillows and window shade, adding visual interest while keeping the bedroom restful.

The 2026 Kips Bay Decorator Show House opens later this month and it has us reminiscing about the room we designed at last year’s Show House.

We wanted this luxurious bedroom to be a calm oasis and refuge to the hustle bustle of New York city life.

The interiors of this Connecticut farm were designed to feel connected to the landscape, but that didn’t mean sacrificing color or a little luxury. In the primary bath, saturated blue drapery frames the surrounding greenery while a sculptural tub and polished metal stools bring a more refined edge to country living.

Our client wanted a home that felt modern but not minimal. While grey connects the spaces, color provides punctuation. A vibrant canvas in the entry, lavender and plum in a bedroom.

Reminiscing on my old beach farm house. I love the old beams and the white painted plank walls. We put in a modern oak kitchen to contrast with the dark wood. It was fun to mix a vintage cabinet with old school house chairs and other contemporary furnishings. The pendant over the dining table was made from coconut shell and reminded me of the beach.
