🏔️Ron and I are back from Peru! We explored Lima, Cusco, and the Sacred Valley (rainbow!), before completing a 30-something-mile trek to Machu Picchu via the Salkantay Pass (elevation 15,200 feet!) with a temperamentally perfect type-b group of travelers from the UK, Netherlands, and Taiwan.

(We’ll take our time, k thanks 💅)

We admired the street art in Barranco, ogled pre-Incan art at the Larco and Amano Textile museums, drank some of the best coffee in the world, ate ceviche and beef hearts, helped Gen-Z overcome their social anxiety (they also buffer when they look at you in Peru), and offered a polite greeting to Paddington Bear—making sure his paws weren’t sticky with marmalade first, ja ja ja!

We pet all the street dogs (including Todos because he wanted everything), got yelled at for ringing this ancient church bell (it’s a BELL, what am I gonna do just LOOK at it?!), and I even bought a funny-looking teapot with two handles. 🤷

6️⃣ 🎉 This month marks six years of sobriety and six years of Virgins On Fire.

I launched my business and kicked the booze on the same day in hopes of shifting my life.

I’m not in a particularly reflective mood—I’m too busy for that—I’ve got sh*t to do today! 💪🤣

But every June—Pride Month—someone writing an article or a stifled committee member of a corporate affinity group will ask, “What makes you proud?”

Well, I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been, making more money than I ever have, and I’m doing it all on my own terms: no hangover, no boss.

And I get to build a lil’ community, too. One that rewards humor and creativity.

Rare. It’s f*cking rare to have this, guys.

Know how much I love and appreciate y’all for showing up for me.

🌈 One of the strange things about becoming an adult is realizing that you can’t take things for granted - that the situation you inherited wasn’t guaranteed, but is there because people came before you and fought for it. The “standing on the shoulders of giants,” thing.

I think most Americans would be like, “Who the fk is Barney Frank?!” - and I’m hardly lionizing the guy - I mean here we are as two frumpy grumps in an old photo so badly edited it resembles AI slop.

But, this guy went through the wringer to make the halls of power a more equitable place. Take a second to read his obituary today. There’s even a prostitution scandal for the litigiously inclined. ✊🏼🏳️‍🌈
