New York just doubled a grant that artists waited nearly 20 years to see change 🎨 City grants for individual artists can now reach up to 10,000 dollars, up from 5,000. The Department of Cultural Affairs announced the increase on October 2. The money is shared through arts councils in each borough.

Applications are open in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan and Queens, and Staten Island opens in November 📅 Officials say the goal is to help working artists afford to keep living in the city. Many artists juggle rent and creativity every single month 🎶 Could this be the boost that keeps the next great artist in New York?
