Due to the sorrow of her people, the Queen has been brought back to the mortal world. She walks among the living, but isn’t truly alive.

This was fun- I paid special attention to something my art generally lacks- lighting detail. It certainly isn’t perfect, but I like that I didn’t leave the lighting flat.

Witchtober #5: DOG MOUTH ✨🦷

My art journey has led me back to ATTEMPTING to draw dog mouths mannny times. I’m not sure why I find it so difficult, even less sure why I keep trying 🫠 but it’s so fun! I find these creatures so fascinating.

Memory & fantasy mixed together for this one. I went to the beach a couple weeks ago. It’s been a long time since I swam in the ocean, so I was surprised with how many aquatic creatures were swimming with me!

It mesmerized me and creeped me out when the waves brought schools of fish all around me. I imagined them swimming through my hair. It was fun at first but after a few waves I fled to shore, hoping I wouldn’t find fish or any of their friends in my tangles haha.

The women in the drawing doesn’t bare my likeness, actually she doesn’t bare anyone’s likeness lol I accidentally took away her forehead. But I feel her none the less!

I want to make decay a little funnier by making it sapphic and fashionable. Does making art about decay cause less or more anxiety about the subject? I’m still unsure lol.
This was done with oil pastels, gouache paint, a colored pencil, and a micron marker. I’ll post a video of the process later 🦷🤍

I read horror lit all year, but it feels even better to read a book that matches the atmosphere. What are your favorite horror books? I seriously need to get my hands on some more!

Last House On Needless Street, Baby Teeth, Dark Matter, The Devil All The Time, Dolores Claiborne, Tender is the Flesh, Frankenstein, The Only Good Indians, and Things Have Gotten Worse Since we Last Spoke. I’m probably forgetting some great ones but these will keep you busy for a while!

Took out the pastels and colored pencils and had some fun ✨💫 though I forgot how ~smudgey~ this medium is, but in the end I embraced the mess. I think it somehow fits the theme anyway!

The feeling behind this drawing started one way, and ended another. At first I was exploring the feeling of searching internally when you feel depleted. Then, I started thinking about AI taking human form and being given a kind of ‘spark’/ flame of life. Of course, you can take the interpretation any way you choose. OR just appreciate the pretty colors ;)
