The Wisconsin Farmhouse Project

This historic colonial farmhouse, rich with Victorian folk charm, is being fully reimagined for a young family relocating to the countryside. Warm wood beams and original stone floors will pair with turned spindles, whimsical wallpaper, and velvets to bring a soulful, collected feel throughout.

The project’s scope extends to all interior spaces including the kitchen, living room, main bedroom and bathroom, guest room, half-bathroom, mudroom, dining room, sunroom, and additional upstairs bedroom. We’re also adding a new wraparound veranda, main suite closet, powder bath, full laundry room, and butler’s hall.

Additional architectural updates include a relocated stairwell to optimize flow, an added fireplace and chimney, over 30 new windows for natural light, and restored historic entry doors. From reworking the floor plan to sourcing every finish and furnishing, the goal is to create a timeless home that balances simplicity and story.

A little look back at what I was up to this past May…

Joining House Beautiful’s Next Wave Class of 2026 was such a memorable experience. It was a week spent surrounded by some of the most exciting voices in design.

Curious about what Next Wave is like behind the scenes? Ask me anything in the comments.

A little look at what I was up to this past May…

I had the pleasure of joining House Beautiful’s Next Wave Class of 2026, a room full of brilliant designers, inspiring ideas, and so much creativity. Here are just a few of my favorite moments from a very memorable trip that I am still thinking about months later.

What do you want to know about the experience? Ask me anything in the comments.

I could talk about millwork all day. It really is our bread and butter 🧈

I think people tend to underestimate how much molding can completely change a room. Crown molding can make a ceiling feel taller, paneling can give a blank wall rhythm and proportion, and even something as simple as the right casing around a door can make the entire space feel more intentional.

I always need to look at the scale of the room first. How tall are the ceilings? How deep should the crown be? Where should the molding start and stop?

These are the details are what can make a room richer, more architecturally detailed, and structure of your space.

Save this one if your walls are asking for a little more!

Our Friday inspiration: fabric selections in every shade of green. If you haven’t seen our August Moodboard on Pinterest, this is your cue.

Green has been weaving its way into our projects lately, from earthy olives and mossy tones to softer, muddier hues.

Save for your next fabric pull + find the full August Moodboard on our Pinterest.

We are excited to announce that our Snowmass Log Mountain Project renderings are up!

We’re thinking through the spaces that will shape everyday life for this family — from mornings spent gearing up for the slopes to long evenings gathered by the fire together at home.

The ski room is becoming a destination of its own, with glass doors that allow light and views to carry through even while everyone is booting up, paired with concealed storage for all of the less beautiful equipment that comes with mountain living.

Nearby, we’re developing a mudroom designed for heavy everyday use, with dedicated storage for coats, hats and outerwear while keeping the more utilitarian pieces tucked away.

Downstairs, the house shifts into gathering mode. We’re imagining a dark, moody spa experience with stone, sauna and steam, alongside a bunk room designed to sleep a houseful of kids. A Hammam-inspired tub and shower alcove is also beginning to take shape.

Upstairs, the primary suite is getting quieter and more sculptural: a rectilinear corner fireplace in the bedroom and a bathroom centered around a freestanding floating vanity, with mirrors suspended from the ceiling.

And because this is a house meant to be full, we’re carving out thoughtful places everywhere, desk alcoves tucked into guest rooms, built-in storage, a full beverage bar, generous banquette seating and spaces designed specifically for gathering.

When we take on a distant design project, one of the most important things to me is making sure our clients never feel the distance.

You shouldn’t have to manage the design process simply because we aren’t down the road. Our job is to create the vision, communicate it clearly, and work closely with the architects, builders, and craftspeople on the ground so that you don’t have to be the person connecting all of those pieces.

We’re in constant communication with the team, reviewing details as they come up and traveling to site like we just did for our Nashville Project.

There is a lot happening between those visits, drawings being reviewed, materials being considered, details being refined, conversations with the build team, sourcing, problem solving. The project is always moving forward.
