In 2010 Kyle Roberts established his independent design practice, Kyle Roberts Interior Design, setting his own standards in the industry, based on the idea that design should represent with equal importance the individual personality of the client as much as the character of the interior space. Kyle’s work reflects a balance of all of his design experiences, influenced by the many architectural a

nd decorative arts of his surroundings. A native of New England, his career took him first to Virginia and the surrounding mid-Atlantic Region; he then relocated to New York City where he completed his education at the New York School of Interior Design. During his years in New York, he worked closely with one of his most admired designers, Michael La Rocca, and then spent 15 years as a member of the senior design team at Stedila Design, working on projects from New York to Boston to Colorado and as far south as the Caribbean.

Master Sitting Room: Kyle Roberts played with proportions in the master sitting room. An oversized desk with the blue painted glass top echoes the swimming pool beyond the French doors.
The designer continued to go big with the cerused-oak-and-lacquer credenza and with Circa Lighting's bronze -and-antique-brass chandelier. "It's at least twice the size that would be recommended in in any design textbook," Roberts quips.
On a smaller scale ceramics draw the eye in for a closer look. Pratt & Lamberts buttery "Summer Petals" paint drenches the space the workspace in cheerful color. An ocean Photograph by Kerry Shaw commands the wall over the credenza.
