It feels like Christmas came early for us this year.

Our shipment from Italy has arrived, and we’re finally beginning to unwrap pieces that have been months in waiting. Each one carrying its own history, now waiting to find its place.

A first look at what’s to come.

These trips are about so much more than sourcing.

As designers, understanding history is essential, and being able to experience places like Villa Necchi firsthand is something we don’t take lightly. It’s where so much of what we value in design begins.

It’s easy to fall in love with vintage and antique pieces, but creating a space that feels truly timeless takes intention. That’s where we come in, guiding you beyond trends and into something lasting.

Inspiration for something special that we are working on.

The initial concept was sparked by the Italian architecture of Villa Necchi Campiglio, guiding us toward a space designed for connection.

Structure and ease held in balance, where proportion guides the experience and every element feels intentional.

It’s this dialogue between form and feeling that continues to shape how we create.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been to Villa Necchi Campiglio, and somehow every visit I find something new to completely fixate on.

This time? The geometry. It’s absolutely everywhere — corners, ceilings, transitions, details you’d walk right past if you weren’t looking. Which I now am. Always. Milan has a way of making sure you never stop paying attention.

Ever heard of a sit test?

When we’re customizing furniture, this is one of the most important steps before upholstery is ever applied. It’s a small moment in the process, but one that ensures what we create feels as good as it looks.

The pool house is pulling me out to Southampton more these days. Finally made it into — which was long overdue. Hunting for things with a little history for projects in the works. In-person sourcing always inspires something we weren’t expecting.

While sourcing in Italy, we came across these Mid-Century Modern Barovier-style Rostrato Murano glass wall sconces with a polished brass base.

This style of glasswork has been having a moment, and we’re always thinking about how pieces like this might live within a home, not just as lighting, but as sculptural moments.

Where would you place something like this in your space?

A glimpse into how we research at Tannehill Interiors.

For us, understanding where a piece comes from is just as important as where it’s going. History, context, and origin all inform how something lives within a space, allowing it to feel intentional rather than placed.

Walking through gardens like this in Milan is just another perspective on what shapes our creative direction.

For us, design is always informed by experience. Immersing ourselves in places that inspire us allows the work to feel more natural, balanced, and deeply personal. It’s less about recreating what we see, and more about absorbing how a space makes us feel.
