Zimmerman Workshop was established in 2010 with little more than a single project and a desire to build a firm that melds rigorous, beautiful, and smart design with top-notch service. Over 40 projects later, our commissions range from furniture design and residential projects (both single and multi-family), to creative offices, and cultural and religious buildings. �

A World Cup nod and Father’s Day post in one!

In honor of Brazil’s ⚽️ game tonight, we give you a glimpse of our favorite Brazilian design: the Pitu Chaise from Sossego | Modern Brazilian Design . It is easily one of the most comfortable chairs we’ve sourced.

This chair hugs you back. And that leads us to the sweet detail we love: pitu means shrimp in Portuguese, and the designer, Aristeu Pires, named it after his daughter, affectionately known as Pitu. He was always welcomed home by her big hugs, and he strived to recreate the feeling of the this chair. It goes without saying that we agree!

Golden hour up in the sky. Like all areas of this Dumbo home, every piece was so carefully considered, and it was a pleasure to mix in beloved pieces the clients already owned. Highlights to note: the colored glass of the chandelier was selected on-site when the home was still under construction; the chairs are comfortable enough for long dinners; and the dining table is a family heirloom, crafted by the owner”s late brother. 🖤

With a view this special, every bit added to this terrace was so carefully considered: lounge furniture with a see-through profile from , specially-designed low planters from , and a delightful viewing machine we had finished in the perfect shade of blue (sourced from in lovely Coburg, Ontario!).
