Hi everyone! We just moved into a new house and this is our kitchen. 🏡✨

We have a **black quartz island**, **glossy white cabinets**, and **white quartz countertops/backsplash**.

The photo is from the listing, so the barstools shown are **not ours**.

I’m trying to decide between **cream-colored barstools** or **black barstools** for the island, and I keep going back and forth.

Every time I ask ChatGPT or use AI for ideas, it seems to recommend cream, which is what made me start second-guessing black. 😂

The only thing making me hesitate with cream is that I have kids, so I feel like light-colored stools could become a daily battle. 😅

What would you choose for this space — **cream or black**?

Someone recently posted about a neutral paint color that didn’t seem to pull strong undertones. I believe she was a real estate agent and said she recommends the color all the time, but I can’t find the post now.

Does anyone have suggestions for a **light neutral paint color that stays as consistent as possible** without pulling noticeably blue, purple, pink, or yellow?

I started painting our walls **Sherwin-Williams Drift of Mist**, and unfortunately it just isn’t working throughout our house.

In one room, it looks like a beautiful warm off-white. In the foyer, it pulls purple, and the walls above the hallway somehow look like two completely different colors — one blue and one purple. 😩

I’ve officially stopped painting because Drift of Mist clearly isn’t going to work here.

Would love to hear what neutral colors have stayed the most consistent in your homes!

These are the four colors I’m considering for my living room and kitchen:

• Benjamin Moore **Swiss Coffee**
• Sherwin-Williams **Alabaster**
• Sherwin-Williams **Agreeable Gray**
• Sherwin-Williams **Drift of Mist**

Right now, the walls are painted **Sherwin-Williams Repose Gray**. I know it’s considered a warm gray, but in our space it still feels a little too cool and flat.

I’m really hoping to find something that feels warmer, softer, and more inviting without looking too yellow or beige.

Which of these four would you choose for a warmer look?

Beyond installing a picture rail, does anyone on here have suggestions/hacks for hanging pictures or decor on wallpaper without a bunch of damage? I know command strips will not work on paper. I just finished renovating this guest room and would like to hang some items, but don’t relish the thought of butchering my walls.

I bought a gallon of **Sherwin-Williams Drift of Mist**, but once I put it on the wall it looks almost white compared to the swatch.

Now I’m second-guessing whether I should return the gallon and choose something else or just trust it and keep going.

I know lighting can change paint colors a lot, but the swatch and the actual paint on my wall really don’t seem to match.

The pictures may not show it perfectly, but has anyone else had Drift of Mist look much lighter on the wall than expected?

Would you return it or go with it? 😅

Not sure what year my house is but under layers of carpet and linoleum there were these hardwood floors. Seeing how everyone in this group loves old hardwood floors I figured I’d share. Every room in the house has different patterns…. Wow I didn’t expect this reaction, I’ll post the rest of my house another time.
