We're hoping to get our house listed fairly soon, and I'd love to give the kitchen a quick refresh before it hits the market. šŸ”āœØ

My biggest challenge is figuring out what to do with the cabinets. I can't decide on a paint color or stain that would work well with the existing tile. The tile itself is actually in great shapeā€”I just haven't found a cabinet color that really complements it and helps it shine.

I've been looking into products like Retique It and Heirloom Traditions since I'd prefer to avoid the time and mess of sanding, but I'm open to any suggestions! I'd love ideas for making this space feel more updated and appealing without spending a fortune. šŸ’°šŸ¤

I need some inspiration! A year ago we purchased an amazing 1979 custom built home across from Lake Michigan. Designed by Japanese ā€œFeng Shuiā€ architect. The living room has a ā€œwater featureā€ (itā€™s operational but donā€™t really have the time to care for indoor fountain currently) and Iā€™m looking for ideas for how to style it. Right now it is as it was when we moved in. But cats dig in plant dirt munch on the leaves. Help! Ripping out not an option, neither is painting it. It matches the fireplace on opposite wall. We installed a staircase with urban milled street trees for my husband the arborist/urban forester.

Heā€™s an arborist and a woodworker, so he built the staircase in our addition. Wood includes cherry, white oak, honey locust, walnut, ash, red oak, cypress, Osage orange, and the ever popular Bradford pear. They are all urban hardwood milled from street trees.

I realize this room is a bit outdated. Painting the walls and replacing the carpet is not an option. We are giving this area to my son to use as his living space. He has a bed, a TV, shelves of collectibles. I'd also like to designate an area ad a small "kitchen" woth a mini fridge and microwave possibly a small table.Any help is TRULY appreciated
