At the turn of the 20th century, Daniel PORTHAULT opened a lingerie boutique in Paris. In the Roaring Twenties, his new bride expanded into the undiscovered world of home couture. At a time when France and the world were sleeping on traditional white and ivory linen, Madeleine PORTHAULT introduced a new style of bedding ~ printed sheets. Inspired by Impressionist art and the gardens at Giverny

, and influenced by their close association with the Paris design and fashion worlds, the PORTHAULT's created linens of instant and enduring appeal ~ colorful sheets and towels with whimsical prints and dressmaker details. Celebrity clients have included Jacqueline Kennedy, Coco Chanel, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Catherine Deneuve and the Duchess of Windsor.
