As part of Marin Architects’ House of Worship portfolio, our conceptual proposal for Emaar Properties’ Iconic Mosque competition reimagines traditional mosque design through a contemporary lens. Located on the banks of Dubai Creek, the design draws from the form of regional sand dunes to shape a calm, light-filled place for worship. Layered massing, natural ventilation, shading, and water are used to create a space that is both contextual and forward-looking.

In highlighting our House of Worship projects, we’d like to feature 4750 White Plains Road.

Located in Wakefield, the Bronx, this six-story development is a strong example of where our House of Worship and Mixed-Use portfolios intersect. The building combines a house of worship at the ground level with 50 units of affordable senior housing above.

Proudly designed by Marin Architects and developed by The Finch Group, this project reflects our broader design philosophy: creating multi-functional buildings that serve the community. By integrating sacred space with affordable housing, 4750 White Plains Road embodies a community-centered approach that benefits the greater community.

As part of our growing House of Worship portfolio, we’re highlighting 3599 Broadway, a 12-story, mixed-use building within Columbia University’s Manhattanville redevelopment in West Harlem.

Marin Architects designed the new home for the Meeting of God Church, which relocated from the adjacent building into a unique interior setting. The design utilizes lighting and finishes to create a brightly lit, inspiring space that is housed within an atypical interior location.

The project also supports the neighborhood with 24 HPD program apartments, plus ground-floor retail (approx. 1,500 SF). The church occupies roughly 7,000 SF across the basement, first, and second floors, creating a meaningful community anchor within a larger housing framework.

Marin Architects led schematic design, design development, and façade design for the building’s 60,500 SF retail component, drawing on our mixed-use and retail expertise to create an active, welcoming ground-floor experience for residents and the surrounding community. Today, that retail base is home to Sky Zone Trampoline Park – Bronx, a new destination for family-friendly fun in the borough.
