A lot of NYC bathrooms feel cold and anonymous—white, chrome, and nothing to remember.

I’m taking inspiration from this green-and-fuchsia palette: one saturated surface (tiles or paint), one playful textile (a skirt or curtain), everything else kept calm.

If your bathroom feels more rental than refuge, send me a photo and I’ll tell you if this “stem + bloom” approach could work there.

OUR WEEK’S PICKS - Green and fuchsia sound like a bold decision until you remember how often you see them in nature.

I recently fell in love with a small bathroom: deep green tiles, a striped skirt in pink and green, daylight flooding in from a roof window. It looks like standing inside a flower stem.
