“Hidcote Indienne” is inspired by the gardens of Hidcote Manor, a 10.5-hectare classical garden created in the early 20th century by the American horticulturalist Lawrence Johnstone. ⁠

The planting at Hidcote is very varied, inspired by Johnston’s travels in Africa and Asia and his love of the Arts & Crafts Movement. The pattern features the likeness of the pink “Lawrence Johnston”, which runs throughout the design.⁠
