Hey guys - we want to know if you'd be interested in hosting a Jane's Walk as a group during the weekend of May 3-4. That weekend, 100+ free guided walks will be happening throughout the city to celebrate Jane Jacobs' birthday. We were thinking of doing a mini-version of the BIG Walk (happening this Saturday!) that would last about 2 hours.
We want to know - is this something you would be interested in? We would lead the walk as a group - the Gallatin Design Collective. It's not a formal guided tour, more of a discussion and the walk is open to the public. You can bring your friends, you can bring your dog, whoever - and we'll make an event on the Jane's Walk site, so we can get the word out about the GDC and hopefully get a good-sized turnout.
The Jane's Walk are independently organized, but are shared online via the The Municipal Art Society of New York and coordinated May 3-4 to celebrate Jane Jacobs' birthday. You can find out more about the event here: http://mas.org/janes-walk-nyc/
There will be a "Jane's Birthday Party" event Sunday, May 4th from 4-6, so we were thinking we could do our GDC Jane's Walk Sunday earlier in the afternoon. But we want to choose a time that works for everyone, so if you want to help out, we can pick a time together.
If you want to get involved or would even just be interested in coming as a guest and wanna tell us what date/time would work best for you, please email [email protected]!!!
PS - Please RSVP for the The Big Walk this Saturday! http://gallatin.nyu.edu/utilities/events/2014/04/bigwalk.htmlhttp://gallatin.nyu.edu/utilities/events/2014/04/bigwalk.html
