La Casa de Zilegna

La Casa de Zilegna Keeping families together one dish at a time!! All the dishes are other culture inspired cuisines wi Hope you all enjoy!! Happy Eating!!!

I am a mother of two who was always told that I can throw down especially in the kitchen. I give major thanks to my mother whom "screamed from the room next door" on how to make the rice, beans and season the meat. If it was not for her, I would have never found my way in the kitchen. I give a shout out to my grandmother Isabel and my aunt Mitzy for using the same ingredients but giving me a different taste each time. My son’s grandmother also gets credit for my new way of cooking as well because of her homemade comfort food, I was able to add to create my very own technique. The Food Network does not fall behind as with watching different food shows, I have been able to expand my menu. Here you will see pictures of delicious homemade food made by me as well as from others or even from restaurants I have visited. Along with seeing photos, I plan on writing a food blog/critique on the places I have experienced. I am hoping this is a start to expanding my menu and skills in the kitchen.Feel free to comment or recommend a new recipe.

Much appreciation to Royal Caribbean for the different cuisines they offered during our trip to the Bahamas. Definitely a “Taste” of Heaven

Thank you to Jessica Melendez-Nauth for including me to the family cruise. My first but not my last. Cannot wait to plan our next one.

When life gives you a different alternative from your original plans, don’t question it and just go with the flow… with this being said, we found this cozy spot and everything was so good… music wasn’t too loud which we enjoyed while going down memory lane… we both enjoyed coco margarita and hibiscus margarita which was our first time having it and we had plenty more throughout the night… took a shot for our girl Tiff as she couldn’t make it… we had a shrimp, ceviche and nachos, which was incredible and though I didn’t take a picture of the three different types of tacos we had, each one had its own unique flavors and they were very delicious… we ended up closing the restaurant and just chilled and talked while we waited for our Uber… cannot wait for the next outing…

Went to MamaSushi Bronx | Japanese Latin Cuisine for sushi and I ended up doing brunch… pick an appetizer, main dish and your dessert for $39.99 per person… an extra $19.99 for all you can drink on mimosas, sangria and their very own punch…

We ended up getting a coconut mojito and a frozen mango margarita instead… we thought it would only be one cup… nah we had more than 1 I’ll say because they were so good lol

We got the fried calamari with their sweet and sour sauce, and a shrimp and octopus ceviche with their corn chips… even the pickled carrots that were on top of the ceviche was good… we also got The Richie Ricardo roll and The Red Dragon as part of our brunch and added El Boulevard and Tolete Camaron rolls… and for dessert we had the fried ice cream (something I didn’t expect to enjoy the way I did)

They have different locations, MamaSushi Broadway | Japanese Latin Cuisine Mamasushi Dyckman here and not just in the Bronx… whether it’s a lunch date, dinner, brunch, special celebration etc, you will enjoy the vibes, music and food!!!
