On a recent , I saw this charming , which reminded me that 46 yrs ago, come this September, the husband, took me out to in , where we ate oysters Rockefeller. I was quite drunk, the food and company fab, and after dinner, I put a nickle into a nearby gumball machine and came away with a plastic pickle pin, that was in my purse for nearly 30 years.

A request for something special and extra, for a beloved family member and his soon to be bride: a special textile from the matrilineal side. And voila, and her fave cloth of the last 20 years of her life popped into my head, and now making its way to a new future. As Faulkner would have it, “the past is never dead.
