I’ve always wanted the studio to feel less like an office and more like a place you want to spend time in. Part workspace, part library, part archive, and a constant collection of things that inspire us.

Designed for the 75th-79th floors of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, we transformed 65,000-square-feet of raw architectural space into an immersive destination inspired by the sweeping views of the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding Nevada landscape.

Throughout the hotel suites, custom architectural elements and bespoke furnishings create a sequence of unforgettable experiences. Curved Italian mosaic walls lead to a private dining room, sculptural orchid installations emerge from perforated brass towers, and carved marble grotto soaking tubs sit beneath white oak coffered ceilings. Every material was selected not only for its visual richness but for its ability to create atmosphere, texture, and a lasting sense of discovery.

Here are some of my favorite showrooms in Tribeca and the SoHo Design District for sourcing and inspiration.

- Laura Gonzalez Gallery, where furniture, art and objects are layered together with a distinctly Parisian point of view.

-Casa Valle, to see pieces we're specifying for upcoming projects.

-Nordic Knots, for texture, and a stack of samples that came back to my studio library.

-Roman and Williams Guild, for vases, tableware and linens, plus the library downstairs I could lose hours in.

-Happier Grocery, for a much needed coffee and a quick email catch-up.

-Trans-LUXE, one of my favorite custom lighting fabricators. They can make almost anything, even turn your favorite vase into a lamp.

The best sourcing days are rarely about finding exactly what you came for. They’re about discovering what you didn’t know you needed.

This wall is clad in Italian glass mosaic that runs a full two stories. The original plan was
to pair it with wallpaper on the surrounding walls, but once the mosaic was installed, the
wallpaper suddenly felt flat by comparison.

So we changed course.

One of the artisans on site was installing Venetian plaster in another room, and we asked
him to hand-paint the remaining walls, taking his cues from the movement and pattern of
the mosaic. What began as a last-minute decision became one of my favorite moments
in the space.

You can plan a project within an inch of its life, but sometimes the best design happens
when you see something in place, trust your instincts, and improvise.
