The Best Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe 🍫🎂
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
1 cup cake flour
⅓ cup cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 large eggs
½ cup full cream milk
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ to 1 teaspoon instant coffee
½ cup boiling water
1 tablespoon white vinegar
For the Chocolate Frosting:
250 ml evaporated milk
½ cup sugar
¼ cup cocoa powder
1 tablespoon plain flour
40g salted or unsalted butter
Directions:
1️⃣ Preheat the Oven & Prep the Pan:
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan and set aside.
2️⃣ Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, sift together cake flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
3️⃣ Add the Wet Ingredients:
To the dry mixture, add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
Mix until just combined.
4️⃣ Incorporate the Coffee & Vinegar:
Dissolve the instant coffee in boiling water and add it to the batter. Mix well.
Stir in white vinegar and mix until fully incorporated.
5️⃣ Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
6️⃣ Prepare the Chocolate Frosting:
In a saucepan over low heat, whisk together evaporated milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and flour.
Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens (about 5-7 minutes).
Remove from heat and stir in butter until smooth. Let cool slightly.
7️⃣ Frost the Cake:
Once the cake is completely cool, spread the chocolate frosting evenly over the top.
8️⃣ Serve & Enjoy:
Slice and serve this moist, chocolatey delight with a glass of milk or a cup of coffee!
