Sara Bengur Interiors & Shop Custom Interiors & Authentic Home Furnishings Interior designer Sara Bengur introduces a cultivated collection inspired by her international travels.

A childhood spent in Turkey, a lifetime of international exploration, a roster of interior design clients that takes her around the world. All these experiences influenced designer Sara Bengur’s sophisticated new namesake collection of globally inspired home furnishings. A sun-kissed tonal palette that is both bright and earthily warm and a clean-lined design aesthetic unite the sharply focused co

llection of tableware, textiles, rugs and more. Taking inspiration from old Turkish motifs and contemporary artists, the array of sophisticated yet playful designs reinvents exoticism in a lyrical way that makes the items suitable for both contemporary and traditional settings. The mix of serenely organic and geometric shapes playfully nods to favorite artist Sonia Delaunay and Francesco Clemente, while the stencil design of one of the fabrics was inspired by an ancient Ottoman coin.

In the south of France situated on a rocky bluff above Cannes is the home of self-taught architect Jacques Couëlle 🪨 Completed in 1962—though its recently undergone an interior design revamp—the house embraces organic, undulating, sculptural forms, intricate tile mosaics, and frescos that makes it quite distinctive👌To me it’s as if there is little separation between inside and outside, where facade and living space meld into a singular organic architectural form…as if you’re inside a shell 🐚 What a remarkable and idiosyncratic way of configuring architecture and interior 🤯 ALSO not to mention this home definitely makes me yearn for a summer spent in the sun and sea 🌊

Sometimes a little fabric goes a long way… For our project in Stone Ridge we took practical, comfortable chairs worthy of lounging and transformed them with the addition of upholstery and covered cushions 🪄In the living room the laid back arm chair features a zig zig Hermes textile in navy, ochre, and terracotta courtesy of 🧶Meanwhile for the bedroom wood arm chair and footstool we choose a pink and yellow floral fabric for a bit of brightness and whimsy 🍥

This just in ! My dear friend and I have been working together for a number of years and I’m thrilled to share our new project
Vastu-Puja 🙏 Two ancient Vedic practices that have shaped homes, temples, and cities for thousands of years are brought together—Vastu Shastra which I have studied for a number of years in Southern India aligns your space with the natural forces that govern life. Puja, which Sonya practices, is the sacred ritual that elevates it and creates peace. Together, they turn a home into something more than beautiful, a living sanctuary that holds meaning, nourishes the soul, and actively supports the life you are building.

Together Sonya and I will begin (more formally) offering this service for homes and workplaces. It’s not necessary to be an interior design client to work with us :) Just an interest in your environment holding more potential than it’s currently expressing 🌿

A heartfelt thank you to .supreme for bringing our vision to life online, and to

It’s New York Design Week 🗽 SO in homage to the week, I wanted to share a recent NYC interior discovery 💡
In a 1964 issue of Vogue, an article aptly titled “Two Famous Painters” showcases the New York apartment of Helen Frankenthaler and Robert Motherwell 🌿
Art is truly the star of the interior—where the artists’ own works are displayed alongside pieces by modernist painters and sculptors such as Brancusi, De Kooning, Rodin, and Degas, as well as a collection of historic artifacts from across the globe: Peruvian ceramics, a 17th-century Madras temple carving, and a 12th-dynasty Egyptian headdress 🛕I find it fascinating and inspiring seeing an artist’s sensibility extend from canvas to living space through the objects they personally collect 👌

When designing kitchens its always about balancing the functional with the aesthetic 🧑‍🍳While we may not all be chefs, if we make the space too pristine and perfect even making a cup of tea may feel like a challenge 🫖 In an effort to avoid this I try to create kitchens that speak to both usage and design 🍥 For instance I love incorporating tiles in the backsplash not only to protect walls from water and other liquids but also to add a splash of color l and pattern 💦I also like to find ways to customize functional cabinetry, like the bright red panels in slide 3 or the decorative painting in slide 1—in this case hand-painted by the artist, ✳️

As Salone del Mobile, Milan’s design week, carries on in the north of Italy, I wanted to share a recent discovery from the southern tip of the peninsula… 🇮🇹 In Palermo, the Palazzo del Poste (the post office still in use today!) boasts remarkable interiors 💌Designed in the 1930s by architect, Angiolo Mazzoni the design of the building bridges Italian futurist aesthetics and neoclassicism with bright and bold splashes of colors in a way that I find to be quite harmonious 🎶 Though the rooms are grand they are very intriguing and inventive…I particularly love the conference room with its blue-hued and quasi-abstract frescos by Italian futurist painter Benedetta Cappa AND the narrative black and white paintings in waiting rooms which find a nice balance alongside orange upholstered furnishing 🍊

A feast for the eyes…🍥 The historic home and studio of Roger Brown in Chicago is quite an extraordinary interior to behold 😮In 1974 Brown bought the property, and together with his partner George Veronda, renovated the then 86-yr-old building, which included three apartments and a retail space, and turned it into his living/working space as well as a location to display his extensive collection 🎭 Brown amassed works from antique markets, Chicago artists, and even things disposed on street corners filling every inch of his living space 🏠 As an interior designer its always such an inspiration to see where artists live and work especially when that space becomes an artwork in itself as it was for Brown 🎨
