I’d love some ideas for decorating this open-concept space so that the three different areas feel distinct but still cohesive. Right now, the kitchen, dining area, and living room all flow into one another, and I want each space to have its own personality without making the overall home feel mismatched or visually cluttered.

I’m especially interested in ideas for rugs, lighting, artwork, window treatments, pillows, accessories, and furniture placement that could help define each area while keeping a consistent color palette and style throughout.

The kitchen has the dark wood island with the light countertop, the dining area has the large wood table and upholstered chairs, and the living room is just beyond it with all of the natural light from the large windows and doors.

How would you decorate these three spaces so they feel like three separate areas but still look beautiful and connected as one home? I’d love to hear what you would add, change, or coordinate between the spaces. Thank you!

I need some help with this dining room because I’m honestly terrified of choosing the wrong rug and window treatments! I’ve been going back and forth on so many different ideas, and the more I look at everything, the harder it gets to make a decision.

The gray tile floors aren’t really my favorite, but replacing them isn’t an option, so I’m hoping the right rug can warm up the room, soften all of the gray, and make the space feel a little more inviting. I’d love something that works with the dark wood table, white chairs and walls, but doesn’t make the room feel too busy.

The artwork on the wall is staying no matter what. My niece painted it for me as a housewarming gift, so it has a lot of sentimental value. I’d love to find a rug and window treatment that complement those beautiful coastal colors without competing with the painting.

Another thing driving me crazy is that nothing in this house seems to be centered! The chandelier is centered in the room, but the window isn’t because apparently the window was positioned to look centered from the exterior of the house. Once you notice it, it’s hard to stop noticing it. 😂 The builder also hung the chandelier much too high, so I’m planning to lower it closer to the dining table.

What would you do here? Curtains, Roman shades, woven shades, or something else? And what colors or style of rug would help warm up these gray floors and tie everything together?

If anyone enjoys playing around with AI and can show me a few different rug and window-treatment options in this room, I would be incredibly appreciative. I need some inspiration before I commit to anything!

I’d love some ideas for this small dining room just off the kitchen. I feel like it has so much potential, but right now I’m not quite sure how to make the space feel more finished, cohesive, and inviting. I’d like to keep the dining table and chairs, but I’m open to ideas for the walls, lighting, décor, window area, and overall styling.

The room already has a lot of warm wood, traditional details, white beadboard, tan walls, and the existing tile floor, so I’m wondering how I can bring everything together without making the space feel too busy or dated. I’d love to add some personality while still keeping it comfortable and practical for everyday meals and entertaining.

What would you change or add to make this little dining area feel so much nicer? I’d really appreciate any decorating ideas, color suggestions, lighting recommendations, or simple changes that could make a big difference. Thank you!

I'm stumped with this area in my house. It's a weird balcony above the front door, accessed from the primary bedroom. Ideally, it will get taken out, but until then, it's driving me nuts when I walk by it. Oh, and it has weird shelving areas on either side that collect more dust. Help!

I’m choosing an off-white paint color for our brick home, and the paint will also be used on some of the siding.

I’ve narrowed it down to these two:

• **Second from the right: Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee**
• **Far right: Sherwin-Williams Natural Choice**

I keep going back and forth between them and would love some feedback from anyone who has used either color, especially on an exterior.

Someone recently posted about a neutral paint color that didn’t seem to pull strong undertones. I believe she was a real estate agent and said she recommends the color all the time, but I can’t find the post now.

Does anyone have suggestions for a **light neutral paint color that stays as consistent as possible** without pulling noticeably blue, purple, pink, or yellow?

I started painting our walls **Sherwin-Williams Drift of Mist**, and unfortunately it just isn’t working throughout our house.

In one room, it looks like a beautiful warm off-white. In the foyer, it pulls purple, and the walls above the hallway somehow look like two completely different colors — one blue and one purple. 😩

I’ve officially stopped painting because Drift of Mist clearly isn’t going to work here.

Would love to hear what neutral colors have stayed the most consistent in your homes!

I recently bought this house (I know it's weird-looking haha) and I want to make the front porch somewhat private, to add a barbecue and a couple of chairs, because it's on a main road and there's no easy access to the backyard. (Adding a back door would be rough given the round roof.) What would be the best way to do this? Privacy trees in pots? (Would they take up half the space?) Should I build a wall of some kind in place of the metal fence? Wooden things attached to the rails for vines to grow on? I live in a place where a lot of plants die in the winter, so I'm trying to think of the best way to do this. Also, there's no water easily accessible to that part of the property, but I could possibly run irrigation off one of my spickets with a timer on it. Thanks for the advice!

Trying to help a friend who’s looking to rehome this gorgeous light fixture. My specialty is all things Mid Century so I have no idea what to tell her this Arts and crafts /mission stainglass is worth. She was offered 50-100. I thought it was worth more. What say you ???
