Founding and History:
BMW, short for Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, was established in 1916 in Munich, Germany. The company originally focused on manufacturing aircraft engines. Afterword wall, BMW shifted its direction toward motorcycles and later expanded into producing automobiles, eventually becoming one of the world's most recognized luxury car brands.
