Balouch wool rugs made by tribes from the Province of Baluchestan. Living in tents with no real outside contact the tribesmen tend to their flocks just as they have done for generations. Their rugs are practical woven primarily for warmth. Skilled artisans weave and a single rug can take months to complete. These rugs are woven by women (on horizontal looms, using the Persian knot) Blue and red are the dominant colors with white, ivory, yellow, and orange providing the contrast.
