This month I had the honor of catering lunch for NIKE HQ’s corporate office in celebration of Black History Month. Shoutout to my lifelong friend for swinging this opportunity my way!
Everyone in the entire office was so kind & welcoming, and I can wait to do it all again!
I also spoke on a small panel (which I was a little nervous about) but it ended up being a lot of fun! I put panel speaking on my vision/prayer board in January & my God, how quick things come to fruition! 🙏🏾

The menu was extensive!:

• Herb & Dijon Roasted Potatoes
• Fire Roasted Vegetables
• Rasta Pasta
• Roasted Chicken
• Pernil (Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder)
• Cabbage Slaw w/ Lime Vinaigrette
• Mixed Green Salad w/ Balsamic Vinagrette
• Leek Focaccia

Every single year I say “this was the best year of my life” & 2024 has been no different! There were so many things I achieved & got to celebrate that were not on my bingo card. But honestly I feel like I live a whole new life every single year, and I love that.

A few highlights:

• I started freelancing as a kitchen assistant in January at & it sort of shifted me into food media! I was able to develop 4 recipes for the brand and got 2 of them published in their Holiday magazine 🥹

• I hit 100,000 subscribers on YouTube & qualified for their ad program 🥳

• I was hired by Hearst to cook for their Latinx event “Nuestra Mesa”

• I can now add “Food Stylist” to my resume! I always styled my own recipes and photographed my food for my website, but I got the opportunity to style for Delish at the end of this year 🤩

• My friends and I made a commitment to get together once a month every single month & we fulfilled that commitment. That alone has brought me the most joy throughout the year ❤️

• My tribe has remained solid and our relationships have only grown deeper

• I set my Goodreads goal at 30 books read this year, & I finished my 30th book at 2:30 AM this morning 😂 Will I procrastinate? Yes. Will I always get the job done? Absolutely.

• I turned 31 on 12/25 🥳

I can’t wait for 2025, because I know it’ll only bring more joy, love, and milestones into my life 🫶🏾

To close out Hispanic Heritage Month, I had the honor of being the chef for Hearst Magazines ¡Nuestra Mesa! event. This was an intimate dinner held in the test kitchen, celebrating & honoring community. A huge thank you to & for this opportunity!

Here’s what was on the menu:

Pernil - Puerto Rican Slow-Roasted Pork Shoulder
Arroz Con Gandules - Rice with Pigeon Peas
Mofonguitos Maduros - Ripe Plantain Cups filled with Picadillo
Ensalada Verde - Green Salad with Aged Balsamic Vinaigrette
Quesitos - Cream Cheese & Guava Stuffed Puff Pastry Bites

Growing up with a Puerto Rican Mom and a Black Dad opened the doors to a diverse palette within me, so cooking this food really felt like I was cooking for the family. I connected with so many wonderful people at this event! I believe that sharing food is the ultimate act of love, so I am beyond grateful that I get to do this for a living, and share that love with others.
