Here’s a fun quilt top i put up at my website in the quilts for sale tab in my homepage… I see so many fun design possibilities for quilt designs in this. I love the left side of this with the red/blue HST’s … you’ll notice the quilter just went all W***y Billy on the right hand side. Hehe. It makes it so fun!

Never fails… anyone relate? It’s not just the threads that stick to us… it’s the pins that magically find themselves in places they shouldn’t be…🙃🤪

Scrap management! My management is : I clean off my cutting table into a giant bin.
-I do not cut them down into random shapes because they won’t fit my templates when I need them.
-when I start a Quilt I start in my scrap bin, before I touch anything that that’s in my folded fabric.
-I allow my eyes to pick whatever Fabric inspires me in the moment. I turn off my brain and I use my eyes. (you need inspiration check out my book 15 minutes of play)
-the only thing that is sorted is solids and Prints. Never by color.
-I have one bin for Prints and I have one bin for solids.
-anything smaller than a fat quarter goes into my scrap bin or any larger piece of fabric that has been Swiss cheese from Cutting from my templates goes into my scrap bins.
-nothing is waste when you start in your scrap bins.
-and I only keep Fabric that I absolutely love. So my scraps are precious. I am a scrap quilter :-)

I’m updating quilts I have for sale at my website. Some of these beauties are hard to let go of! I’ve always loved collecting quirky quilts- like this one. I love this HST quilt with its fun border fabric and it’s four block backing! It’s thick and squishy, and must have been loved. A little bit of fading and only one block has a fabric that has disintegrated. I love the bit of bright pink in the sea of plaid shirtings. 😍

If I had to pick a favorite quilt from my book The Quilting Experience… it would be my Jubilate quilt. Quilted by so beautifully the back looks like a pieces quilt but it’s just all her thread changes! It’s stunning. I love the subtle color palette. It’s not my norm, but I think everything just fell into place on this…
(Don’t tell the others that this one’s my favorite! )

Cleo is the only dog that has ever been a “pillow” sleeper. She wads up her blanket in her crate at night as a pillow… I’m thinking I should make her her own pillow for her crate. Dog crate decorating can be my next business…
-
she seems partial to my facets pillow… (block pattern is in my book The Quilting Experience, and facet templates in two sizes at my website) except she’s not supposed to be on that pillow. It’s my favorite…and on my bed… where she’s not meant to be. 🙃 but I couldn’t resist snapping her photo… she can’t help she’s adorable.

-
I keep random pillows about as I know she will sleep where I place them. (Keeps her off other places I don’t want her.). It’s funny the personalities of dogs. Agatha is total opposite, yet I love them just the same. :-)

I had this little Dimensions quilt made a while back… made for no reason other than it was fun and adorable to make! I just needed to finish the binding once I found a good home for it. Success!
-
I decided my OT’s daughter, whose birthday is only a few days after my daughter’s (but 25 years apart!) -was in need of this light background, scrappy little quilt. I love it when we find the perfect homes for our textile babies! 😉
This was a fast make… quilted beautifully by and now it’s been bound and gifted yesterday.
Another quilt made with LOVE, has found a forever home.❤️

On the design wall today, I am cutting backings for two thunderstruck Quilt tops… getting more step outs cut out of my cottage Clover blocks for the class I’ll be teaching in September at retreat….
I’m actually packing everything up for September already because I know summer is gonna go by so quickly. Getting organized now so that I can get a whole bunch of other projects, backing cut and shipped out of here for quilting… I feel like I’m on a roll! Pick them up, move out!
