Brett Helsham is an interior designer based in New York City. Following a childhood spent traveling and living around the world with her family, Helsham graduated with a BFA from New York University and an MFA in Interior Design from the historic New York School of Interior Design. "I was very influenced by watching my mother design our homes when I was younger," says Helsham. "Growing up in five countries, I was given the opportunity to witness interior design from the ground-up over and over again. Following her graduation, Helsham worked as an Associate Designer at Wettling Architects until 2013, when she signed on as Senior Designer for formidable firm Mr Call Designs. In 2015, she left to found her namesake studio, now working in residential, hospitality and commercial design internationally.

This weekend we celebrated the life of my Auntie Sherri.

Not everyone gets to grow up surrounded by a big, close-knit family. My mum is one of six, and they were the kind of siblings who genuinely loved spending time together. The cousins all landed around the same age, which meant summers, holidays, and family weekends felt a little bit magical.

The oldies would stay up late talking, laughing, and partying while the cousins disappeared for hours creating our own adventures. We rode bikes, played endless games, got into harmless trouble, and made the kind of memories that only seem possible when you’re young.

Looking back, I realize how lucky we were. What felt ordinary at the time was actually something pretty special—a family full of love, noise, chaos, and people who genuinely enjoyed being together.

This weekend reminded me of that.

It might have taken an angel in heaven to get us all together again, but somehow I think that was exactly the point. ❤️

Love you, Auntie Sherri.

My goal this year wasn’t to be perfect.

It was to show up.

Some days that’s lifting heavier. Some days it’s getting through the workout on four hours of sleep. Some days it’s regulating myself before I regulate three tiny humans.

The older I get, the more I realize consistency beats perfection every single time.

What’s your goal right now? 👇

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but becoming an adult doesn’t cure the need to call your mom. 😂

Tell me I’m not the only one still calling my mom with a full daily recap. 👇

, , and had us in stitches all night—but my personal highlight? Meeting my forever celebrity crush, , and getting to tell him that the paved the way for the work we do with the . An absolute honor.

Thank you for the invite and for introducing me to the , and to my new bestie for hosting such a gorgeous, impactful event. We laughed, we cried, and we raised critical funds to help dismantle generational poverty—pairing tangible goods with innovative services not just for mothers, but for the often-overlooked fathers, too.
