I am rarely on Facebook nowadays, other than to wish peeps a happy birthday or check out my Memories, but thought this was relevant to me and my industry. His Royal Highness has decided--for now at least--to release the pressure off of our industry. As we all know however, he can change his mind based on the most inane reasoning--like his sofa was uncomfortable the night before, so he's pi**ed off at all furnituremakers--or something similar, so we're certainly not in the clear. We shall see how this impacts 2026, because it certainly impacted 2025 sales and operations significantly, the ramifications of which we are still dealing with. If you think tariffs are a wonderful thing, you're wrong. They are detrimental to small businesses, and most of all, you, the consumer picks up the cost of them. The great swindle from the greatest swindler of all. Fingers crossed for this year.🤞
Trump's order signed Wednesday keeps in place a 25% tariff he imposed in September on those goods, but delays for another year a 30% tariff on upholstered furniture and 50% tariff on kitchen cabinets and vanities.
