Chocolate Panna Cotta with Fresh Berries
Ingredients:
2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons beef gelatin
2 tablespoons water
Fresh berries (such as raspberries, blueberries, or strawberries) for garnish
Optional: Whipped cream and mint leaves for serving
Directions:
Prepare the Gelatin:
In a small bowl, sprinkle the beef gelatin over 2 tablespoons of water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
Make the Chocolate Mixture:
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, milk, and sugar. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm (do not let it boil).
Remove from heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until it melts completely, creating a smooth mixture.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Incorporate the Gelatin:
Heat the bloomed gelatin in the microwave for 10-15 seconds until fully dissolved.
Add the dissolved gelatin to the warm chocolate mixture, stirring thoroughly to combine.
Pour and Chill:
Pour the chocolate mixture evenly into ramekins, glasses, or serving molds. Cover with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
Serve:
Gently loosen the panna cotta from the molds (if using) and invert onto dessert plates. Alternatively, serve directly in the glasses or ramekins.
Top with fresh berries, whipped cream, and a sprig of mint for garnish.
