Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 23 minutes
Servings: 4 dessert cups
Ingredients
* 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
* 2 cups kataifi pastry, finely chopped
* 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
* 1 cup pistachio cream (pistachio spread)
* 1½ cups milk chocolate, chopped
* 1 tsp coconut oil or neutral oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)
* Chopped pistachios, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Toast the Kataifi
* Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
* Add the chopped kataifi and cook for 5–8 minutes, stirring often, until golden brown and crispy.
* Let cool completely.
2. Melt the Chocolate
* Melt the milk chocolate (and coconut oil, if using) in the microwave in 20-second intervals or over a double boiler.
* Stir until smooth and glossy.
3. Prepare the Cups
* Spoon a layer of melted chocolate into the bottom of each clear dessert cup.
* Add a layer of sliced strawberries.
* Spoon over a generous layer of pistachio cream.
* Sprinkle with toasted kataifi.
4. Repeat the Layers
* Add another layer of chocolate, strawberries, pistachio cream, and crispy kataifi until the cups are full.
5. Finish
* Drizzle plenty of warm melted chocolate over the top.
* Garnish with extra toasted kataifi and chopped pistachios.
* Serve immediately for the crispiest texture, or chill for 10–15 minutes if you prefer a firmer chocolate layer.
Tips
* Toast the kataifi until deep golden for maximum crunch.
* Use ripe, sweet strawberries for the best flavor.
* Assemble just before serving to keep the kataifi crisp.
* For an extra luxurious finish, sprinkle with edible gold flakes or crushed roasted pistachios.
