HAVEN Lantern Impact Update
At HAVEN, we wanted to prove something simple:
One person may be off grid by choice. Another may be off grid by circumstance. We do not think they should get different technology.
That belief became the foundation of what we call Designed with Dignity.
The same HAVEN portable solar power and light products we sell commercially are deployed through humanitarian and nonprofit organizations. There is no lesser aid version.
Since launching, HAVEN has supported deployments involving Good360, ShelterBox USA, All Hands and Hearts, American Red Cross, Catholic Charities USA, Samaritan's Purse, Global Empowerment Mission, along with corporate partners including Amazon Disaster Relief and CVS Health.
Those efforts have already reached communities across Jamaica, Venezuela, Guam, Puerto Rico and Cuba, Mongolia, Nigeria, Ukraine, Ethiopia, the United States and beyond.
Our latest impact accounting has now reached:
76,000 lives impacted
62,000 tons of CO₂ averted
For us, those numbers represent something very human. Light to illuminate a home when the grid disappears. Power to keep a phone or tablet charged and people connected. Safe, portable energy when circumstances change overnight.
Our commercial business helps make this possible by allowing us to substantially reduce pricing for impact deployments while providing the exact same technology. Thanks to REI and Uncommon Goods + Nordstrom and so many independent retailers in the US as well as the 12 countries we are now sold in.
People who choose to go off grid can help make the same technology more accessible to people who are off grid by circumstance.
That is the model we are building at HAVEN.
