If I can describe the fragrance combination of these ‘Colonel Owen Cousins’ peonies, ‘Free Spirit’ garden roses, and double-petaled ‘Delight Pink’ tulips it would be base notes of golden honey, fresh lemony key notes with a delicate and sweet peppery verdant finish. When designing a mixed floral arrangement, I love to not only consider the colors, textures and shape of the flowers but also the overall fragrance! To design something so intimately feels like such a considered delight and gift in this day and age of instant gratification.

I think I’ve also decided on my favorite heirloom cultivar of Peonies introduced in 1972. A crisp double-bomb bloom of creamy white layered petals with a copper-salmon-pink tinge at the base. Strong and sturdy balanced with soft and delicate. Simply stunning and I’ll be thinking of their heavenly scent that still lingers on my mind.

Anyways, if you received flowers, don’t forget to tip your vase with water! Flowers get thirsty!
