A recent post from
I love that they figured out the formula for those who love and miss The Pink House. 🩷
Drum roll please… you heard it here first… I’m excited to announce the creation of the accurate paint color:
THE PINK HOUSE, NEWBURY!!!!
It’s available only by JOHNSON PAINT, (formerly Port Paint), 201 Merrimac St. (PAINT STORE & PARKING on WARREN ST.) in Newburyport.
HOW was this done? When the Preservation Restriction was being written (later approved by the Town of Newbury), samples of The Pink House’s paint were taken to match a certain range of existing colors that the Restoration Partner would only be able to use on The Pink House’s exterior. And now we have a true, physical match, thanks to Johnson Paint’s computer program (and Nick’s matched enthusiasm with mine) used at Johnson Paint. Their system can find an exact formula to mix & match, even from a sample of just fabric, paper, etc.!
Starting PINK HOUSE DAY, Saturday, June 14th, at 8am, Johnson Paint will create “THE PINK HOUSE, NEWBURY” paint at your request, in a range of sizes & finishes, interior & exterior. This color is made by Johnson Paint, Newburyport and not offered through Benjamin Moore. Benjamin Moore is the paint that is used at Johnson Paint.
Ps. Shown are the first cans made (purchased by me, Kelly Page)!THANK YOU ALL AT JOHNSON PAINT, Newburyport!!
Please note that there’s a Flag Day Race at 4pm through parts of Newburyport.
