Fall color, the coastal way. 🍂

Warming a room for autumn isn’t about going dark — it’s about undertone. A soft taupe, a warm greige, a hint of clay or olive, grounded by a creamy white, brings the season in without losing the light.

Swipe to see all five in one room olive limewash, a leather-framed mirror, a chiseled stone basin, warm oak underneath.

The secret never changes — test large swatches in your own light before you commit. ✨

Attic Retreat, revealed. 🤍

An unused attic in Newburyport — and one we’ve been living inside of for a long time.

A red door at the top of the stairs. Custom built-ins that read like they were always there. Lighting chosen corner by corner instead of all at once. And seating tucked into every alcove the roofline gave us — a window seat under the dormer, a bench beside the desk, a spot to sit in corners that were dead space a year ago.

Every material had to earn its place. The ones that made it are the ones you don’t notice first — you just feel them.

Swipe all the way through.

Every home needs a corner that asks you to slow down. 🤍

This is the spot for morning coffee, an afternoon chapter, or simply doing nothing at all — the kind of nook that makes a house feel like a place to breathe.

The secret? Comfort you can actually reach for: soft layers, good light, and a few things you love within arm’s reach.

Where’s your favorite corner to slow down? 👇

The golden rule: put your money into what’s permanent and hard to change later.

Cabinetry, countertops, and flooring are the bones of the room. They set the tone, take the most daily use, and cost the most to redo. That’s where your budget belongs.

Then pull back on the accessories. Fixtures and hardware are the jewelry — they read expensive for a fraction of the cost, and they’re easy to swap when you’re ready for something new.

The part most people don’t expect: hiring a designer is often what keeps a budget intact, not what strains it. Getting the sequence and the spend right from the start is far cheaper than correcting it halfway through.

Spend on the bones. Style the rest thoughtfully.

Save this for your next reno. 🔨

Meet Chloe!

She first joined the studio as an intern during her junior year of high school, stepped away for senior year, and came right back after graduation - this time as our studio assistant.

She keeps us organized and catches the details, which is exactly the kind of person a studio like ours runs on.

Next up: civil engineering and business at Northeastern, starting with a semester abroad in Greece.

She is just getting started, and the best is ahead of her.

Join us in welcoming Chloe back to the team!
